I want to work in architecture because of its ability to create lasting, positive impacts on people’s everyday lives and to give me an opportunity to apply my passion for visualization and design in service of the communities I grew up in. My interest in architecture began with a childhood memory of my parents asking me to draw a house where our family could live together. While that early curiosity stayed with me, it fully blossomed during my time at UC San Diego, where I became involved with the architecture club and took urban design courses. Designing spaces and considering how people experience them sparked a deeper interest in the built environment and its ability to shape how people connect with their surroundings. Since then, I have proactively pursued architectural learning outside the classroom through online courses in Revit and AutoCAD. I am excited by the opportunity to continue developing my design skills while bringing my interdisciplinary perspective in urban planning, design, and community development to the profession. Ultimately, I hope to contribute to thoughtful, welcoming places that positively impact the communities they serve.
