Why I want to work in architecture
In the age of evolving technology, video games played a major role in my adolescence. Creative games that involved building and structure creation intrigued me the most: Bloxburg, The Sims, and Minecraft were a few of my all-time favorites. It sparked an unknown passion for architecture I didn't understand until "what game should I play?" turned into "what do I want to major in college?"
To answer that question, I want to major in Architecture. I've known I have ever since middle school, and I've stuck with it for eight years since. Video games may have been the spark to my descision but I am well aware it's not as easy as games may make it seem. In a student internship I took part in, one of the most important things I acknowledged was how everyone had something different to bring to the table; a weakness someone may have was found as a strength in another. It made our group stronger, and the experience overall piqued my interest in Architecture even more.
I want to work in architecture to help and collaborate with others in a field of work I am passionate about. Whether that's working on a team where strengths are acknowledged, and creativity is valued, helping a client by spending time understanding who they are and what they desire in terms of their architectural vision, or even helping make that vision a reality.
