I am interested in the professional practice of Architecture because it sits at the intersection of history, community, and everyday life. As a community college student at Cosumnes River College studying Architecture, and with plans to transfer to Sacramento State University in Fall 2026, I have grown increasingly motivated to understand how design decisions shape the way people live, gather, and experience the world around them. I am especially passionate about historical restoration and the responsibility Architects have to preserve cultural memory while adapting spaces for modern use. I believe architecture should do more than meet functional needs—it should create livable environments that center community, encourage connection, and support leisure, beauty, and well-being. I am drawn to the idea of romanticizing daily life through thoughtful design, where ordinary routines are elevated by light, material, scale, and context.
