I am interested in the professional practice of architecture because it is an extension of social activism, an expression of human creativity and problem solving, and seeks to benefit the local community. I am particularly devoted to sustainable architecture through the lens of social equity. I believe that by applying the practice of cultural exchange, the architectural response can be more specific in providing solutions for communities and neighborhoods. Furthermore, I believe that architecture can balance the built environment and natural environment. I have learned that design can be applied to creating new habitats, maintaining
ecosystems, and improving the safe interactions between humans and nature. From my years of studying architecture, I understand that this professional practice has a broad range of applications and requires the architect to consider the individual factors that make up systems. In essence, I believe that the professional practice of architecture utilizes creative, human-driven solutions in order to better the lives of individuals, sociocultural networks, and systems of society. I want to be part of the movement that progresses our communities forward by dedicating my professional career to something meaningful with lasting, positive change.
