I am interested in the professional practice of architecture because my curiosity about architecture started long before I even understood what architecture truly was. Growing up I was obsessed with reality TV shows about home remodeling. Now, after two years of studying architecture, I know that there is much more to constructing homes and buildings, but I also learned that architecture offers a range of career paths and possibilities. As a first-generation college student, discovering architecture felt empowering as I unlocked what career felt right to me. This opportunity would allow me to gain meaningful professional experience, but also allow me to explore the different paths architecture can take. While my younger self dreamed of remodeling homes, I truly believe this architectural experience can expose me to the possibilities far beyond what I imagined and I am eager to grow and discover where I best fit within the field.
