As a high school student, I am interested in pursuing architecture because it combines
creativity, problem-solving, social responsibility and real-world impact. The idea of designing
spaces that people use every day—homes, schools, community buildings—excites me because
those spaces influence how people feel and interact.
I am especially drawn to the process behind architecture: turning an idea into sketches, then
models, and eventually into a structure that serves a purpose. It challenges you to think critically about function, safety, and sustainability while also considering aesthetics and human experience. Decisions made during design influence energy use, material consumption, and social equity for decades. I am excited by the responsibility of contributing thoughtfully to the built environment. Architecture also appeals to me because it requires collaboration. Architects work with engineers, clients, and communities, which means communication and teamwork are just as important as design skills. As someone who enjoys working with others and learning from different perspectives, I see this as a meaningful and dynamic career path. Ultimately, I want to pursue architecture because it allows me to be creative while making a tangible, lasting difference in the world around me.
