I’m changing careers from Software Engineering to Architecture. Passionate about green building, sustainability, biophilic, regenerative design and net zero carbon, and particularly keen to apply these to multi-family mixed-use residential, yet I’m happy for any experience to help me work in Architecture. I’ve done freelance design but it wasn’t enough work so I went back to software. 2023 was a difficult year of loss for
my family, and one lesson was: life is short, make the most of it! So this time I'm making this career transition stick. My skills include Revit, SketchUp, Vectorworks, and AutoCAD drafting; graphics in GIMP; GIS. With strong software, scripting, and computer skills, my favorite software projects involved doing building and grid energy simulations. I’m very interested in using tools like Grasshopper to analyse energy use, daylighting, and carbon. I’ve informally studied green building, energy efficiency, rooftop gardens, Permaculture, urban design, accessibility, etc. December 2026 I’ll earn an AS in Architecture from CSM. Though my architecture path is non-traditional, I bring diverse knowledge, experience, skill and enthusiasm to increasing the health, happiness and resilience of our communities through good building design.
